God, my life is so much better than I deserve. The only times I’m sad are when I’m not happy, so even feeling sad is okay because it’s always true. Only one person can be angry for no reason- because the only time we’re angry is when we’re on the losing side- and I feel like a perpetual winner. When you win, you win everything, and when you have everything, you’ll never lose. I am such a winner, I can spend the rest of my life writing bibles in different languages. I love my life so much that I know I will never die until I need to.
The only thing we need is God and the people-Amen.
rewind, reset: thoughts about the current abortion debate [in the united states]
our puritain roots are making it difficult for us as americans to truly talk about sex and family. by banning abortion, think about all of the unstable families that may spring up as a result of a ban. the existence of abortion doesn’t mean that people will be running around killing babies without some feeling of remorse. i cannot begin to understand the emotions that a woman may feel during this process, knowing that she has to terminate the life of [what would be] a loved one, i can imagine that abortions aren’t fun, obviously not from experience. i think that abortions should be legal so that a woman has control over her family planning. although what may be right for some may not be suitable for others, i believe that women should have that choice, and that right. after all, it is their body. let people decide what is best for them.
not every abortion is done because the mother, or father, (if even present), is/are not financially stable. some abortions are mare due to the fact that the soon-to-be parents simply aren’t ready to care for a life other than their own.
i am extremely proud for the mothers and fathers that were, are, and will be able to raise a child successfully, despite untimely circumstances. however, not everyone possesses that ability. i don’t believe that people should be penalized for their development by taking on a responsibility that they are not ready for.
i understand that there are pro-life alternatives that can be taken in the situations stated above. adoption is a great alternative, and i applaud everyone and anyone that has adopted a child, and brought them up in a happy and healthy environment. however, that practice may not be feasible for others, as prenatal care may run on the pricey side, in addition to being time consuming (especially for those that did not plan) and just plain impractical (look at the “lifestyle’s dos and dont’s section of http://www.womenshealth.gov/faq/prenatal-care.cfm).
(enter juno and other similar stories).
it is imperative to bring a healthy child into the world. if this task is too difficult, abortion may be the most practical route.
womenshealth.gov states that:
babies of mothers who do not get prenatal care are three times more likely to have a low birth weight and five times more likely to die than those born to mothers who do get care. (http://www.womenshealth.gov/faq/prenatal-care.cfm)
i encourage everyone to take a trip to the womenshealth.gov site.
NOTE: these statistics are mainly stating odds, and are not necessarily definitive statements on what will happen if prenatal care is not pursued. but i feel that women should have the choice and the right to decide what is best for them, as well as their family.
furthermore, how could you truly be against abortion if you are pro-war? this is not directed to the deeply religious, but rather to the politicians that try to control the bodies of our countries daughers, sisters, nieces, girlfriends, mothers and wives. try to be considerate; put yourself in those women’s shoes.
those are my thoughts, what do you think?
